Course Outline

From our Roastery QC Lab, this course will cover all requirements for SCA CSP Roast Intermediate Certification. Hands on practical activities, etc. will expose learners new to coffee roasting with a full perspective from the context of our Roastery+Tasting Room (cafe).

Our lead AST trainer (Adam) has taught this course in many locations and modalities in both English and Mandarin Chinese and is fully certified in all modules: Green, Roast, Sensory, Brewing and Barista.

Interface with Caravan's team, trainers, baristas, Q-Grader, and Lead Roaster during or after class.

For this course students will learn on a gas powered San Franciscan SF1 (1lb) 500g Coffee Roaster. Other brewers, espresso machines and grinders may be available for use and learning during the break, before or after class. You may also observe the working flow of a SF1 sample roaster to the twin SF25 (12kg) San Franciscan roasters.

Enjoy Oregon's wine country in Newberg, before or after class for a full sensory experience. Amazing food and plentiful Air BnB's in this valley college town.
