Becoming an Authorised SCA Trainer (AST) will give you the unique opportunity to teach the Coffee Diploma System curriculum at your own Authorised Training Venue (ATV) or Premium Training Campus (PTC). We’ll provide you with all the necessary training on our two-day Authorised SCA Trainer course, as well as the curriculum itself and our exclusive AST Handbook to help guide you along the way.
Authorised SCA Trainers will have achieved a certain level of qualification already within the Coffee Diploma System, but with your completed AST training, you’ll be able to start teaching your own classes, with SCA supporting you throughout, and providing the necessary certification.

If you wish to attend an Authorised SCA Trainer course, you must:

Complete the Authorised SCA Trainer Application Form;

Be able to prove that your training facility complies with the core requirements for an ATV (or PTC);

Have achieved Intermediate and Professional level in the category you wish to teach. SCA requires a three-month gap between taking and passing an Intermediate level module and taking the Professional level of the same module. There is also a three-month gap required between passing the Professional level and following the AST course.

Pay the proforma we will send you after completing the Application form. This will be 1500 euro plus 200 euro per certifier license for a 3 year AST license including membership. You will be able to teach amodule of your choosing (and that you hold the Professional certificate for) and Introduction to Coffee. Adding an extra module costs 200 euro.

Make sure your application is in one month before the course takes place. Applications that are emailed later than this date will not be processed.

Please note that applications will not be processed unless you provide your SCA Coffee Diploma System and/or your SCAA Pathway certificate details on the Authorised SCA Trainer Application Form.
