For the second time, baristas from all over Bulgaria competed in late October for the title of best in the country, and showed their skills in the preparation of espresso and speciality coffee during the Bulgarian Barista Championship, Mladenka Mladenova of the Bulgarian SCAE chapter reports.

The event was held at the Caffè Festival exhibition, which filled the Inter Expo Center in Sofia with the aroma of coffee prepared by the best baristas in Bulgaria.

In the Barista Championship, all six places in the final round were taken by the baristas from Sofia, representing well-known coffee shops and chains.
 
The winner was Patrik Vilhelmsson (pictured), who will represent Bulgaria at the World Barista Championship in Bogota, Colombia next year. Second place was taken by Nikolay Litov and Viktor Balushev came third.

The official jury at the event was led by head judge Tasos Delichristos, and included Raycheslav Karagyozov, Ivan Donchev, Yannis Zois, Miron Gerasimov, George Gerganov, Jordan Dabov and George Bundev.
