Blazej Stempin will be representing Poland at the World Championships in Maastricht next June, after he came first in the Polish Cup Tasting Championship in mid-September, Tom Obracaj of SCAE's Polish chapter reports.

The Polish Cup Tasting Championship 2011 took place in mid-September during the Gastro Trends trade fair in Poznan. There were 19 participants competing for top honours in the Championship, and the eventual winner was Blazej Stempin, from Warsaw-based coffee bar Filtry Café--congratulations to him!

The very popular and growing Cup Tasting competition was moved six months ahead of the annual Warsaw event for organisational and technical reasons. 

However, the WBC Barista finals, the SCAE Latte Art and Coffee in Good Spirits competitions will once again be held in March: they will take place at the Euro Gastro trade fair in Warsaw, March 23-25.
