Cezve/Ibrik competition picks Aysin Aydogdu to represent UK at London World Championship
UNITED KINGDOM 28th May 2010
The United Kingdom Cezve/Ibrik competition was held at the Ishtar Restaurant in Marylebone, London on Sunday May 23, which was the hottest day of the year so far, reports SCAE UK National Coordinator Kenneth Cooper.
It seemed summer had arrived very early, with the UK having higher temperatures (appropriately enough) than some of the Mediterranean countries.
Before the competition began, the spectators and judges were treated to a display of some amazing belly dancing—and some of the audience and even the judges joined in!
The competition attracted five contestants, and was won by Aysin Aydogdu (pictured, far right, with the judges and her teammates) who will represent the United Kingdom at the SCAE World Championships in London during June.
This is the third time that Aysin will be representing the UK, and everyone will be hoping that Aysin improves on her fantastic result in last year’s World Championship in Cologne, where she came an amazing third—this year, we hope she will be crowned World Champion.
Aysin joins our other four champions representing the UK: John Gordon (at the WBC), Edmund Buston (Coffee in Good Spirits), Neil Le Bihan (Latte Art), and Paul Stephens (Cup Tasters), all vying to be World Champions at Caffè Culture at Kensington Olympia, London, June 23-25.
