Despite some of the judges being prevented from attending by the late April flight disruptions, the Serbian Barista Championship went ahead successfully, and the competitions took place extraordinarily well, and in a good atmosphere, Serbian National Coordinator Davor Arsic reports.

At the event, Nenad Stojanović became the Serbian barista champion, with Miloš Mišić as runner-up and Nemanja Niketić placing third. (The three winners are pictured: l-r Miloš Mišić, Nenad Stojanović and Nemanja Niketić).

We did our best to gather many friends and sponsors of the event, as well as media representatives.

We chose the best possible venue - bright and spacious enough to fulfill our needs and ideas. It was in the heart of Belgrade's business district. Within the venue there was a media area, a competitors area for preparation and competition, as well as a place reserved for judges. Several hundred visitors came to watch the competition over two days.

Donkafe (Strauss Adriatic) and Serbian Barista School were the leading sponsors, but our other sponsors were Monin, Avon, Lipton. Jameson, Coffeedream, Atrium Consulting and some local companies from the hospitality business.

Around twenty media teams were our guests too, and the press conference was a great success! Pleasant hostesses, delicious catering, a good mood and a dynamic vibe gave our after-party a special spark!

We are now in the phase of collecting all the media material that will best show the way that we promoted both the coffee world and SCAE values.

Despite all the difficulties (with airports out of service), everything went according to plan when it came to the competition rules and standards. I am happy to say that we completed this event very successfully.
