Café Coffee Day, the largest Indian coffee bar chain, in mid-October bought local chain Café Emporio, paying $3.4m (€2.4m).

The Czech chain has 11 outlets across the country, in Prague, Brno, Olomouc and Hatě, reports said. (Pictured is one of the Prague cafés.)

Café Coffee Day, which several years ago established a European foothold by setting up four coffee bars in Vienna, has over 900 outlets on the Indian subcontinent.
