Huge audience watches five champions created at the Helenic Championships
GREECE 17th February 2010
An audience of over 1,500 visitors was on hand to see the emotion and expertise that was demonstrated at the successful Hellenic Barista Championships in early February, Greek National Coordinator Mira Gerontonaki reports. The event was held at the newest and largest exhibition centre in Greece, Metropolitan Expo Athens, during the International Food - Drink - Technology Exhibition.
In the competitions, Stefanos Domatiotis (pictured) was the winner of the Hellenic Barista Championship,
while George Kalaitzis took second place and Christos Kavrakos the third.
In the Latte Art Championship, George Kalaitzis was the winner, with Ilias Kalidonakis coming second and Edouard Erapetian taking third.
Tasos Moschopoulos again was the winner of the Cup Tasters competition, having won first prize last year. Second place went to Zafiris Mavros and Tasos Delichristos achieved third place.
In the Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, George Loukas was the winner, while Stavros Labrinidis was the champion of the Ibrik competition.
All five Greek champions have declared themselves ready for the World Championships in London in June, and we wish them the best.
Four certified judges participated on the international judging panel: Marc Pierre Dietrich from UK, Pawel Maliszewski from Poland, Elisabeth Sereno from Spain and Tasos Delichristos from Greece.
