Strauss Group acquires Doncafe’s Balkan operations after TPG investment

Israel-based multinational roaster Strauss Group in mid-May paid €7.5m for Italy’s Doncafe operations in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia, a Reuters report said.

Doncafe’s operations in the region include supplying espresso and speciality beverages, and these businesses turned over €4.5m in 2007, the report added.

Strauss, which already owns Doncafe’s units in Serbia and Montenegro, earlier this month sold 25% of its coffee operations worldwide to private equity concern Texas Pacific Group (TPG) for $288m (€184m).
