3 Central Pillars
There are 3 central pillars to SCAE's Coffee Diploma: Teach, Certify and Control.
TEACH
Each of the courses follow a set curriculum which is written by industry experts, which outlines the course structure, specific learning goals and compulsory content to be followed.
Each curriculum includes a set of recommended readings for both tutors and students.
Courses can be given by anyone and curricula can be downloaded online from scae.com
CERTIFY
Certification in any of the categories can only be carried out by a trained and approved Authorised SCAE Trainer (AST). A list of ASTs is available from this website, see AST listing.
Each certification successfully completed will earn the student the allocated credits and an official SCAE certificate acknowledging that achievement.
Written and practical examinations for all categories will be updated regularly and will be centrally controlled and issued by SCAE HQ.
CONTROL
The SCAE will control all curricula from SCAE HQ. All curricula documentation will be downloadable from the scae.com site. Visit: curricula.
Changes to any curricula will be agreed and controlled at HQ and online curricula documents will be updated accordingly.
SCAE HQ will issue all certificates of successful completion of any of the stages.
A Coffee Diploma conferral event will be held annually to honour those who have achieved 100 credits.
SCAE runs Authorised SCAE Trainer seminars regularly for those who wish to certify individual courses.
SCAE Authorised SCAE Trainers will be calibrated and re-certified every 2 years or lose their right to certify.
